A chance encounter at Jack Astor’s one night blossomed into a romance before all of their family and friends, when Dionne met Justin. In no time, the couple was inseparable and on their way to the altar.
Dionne and Justin were strolling down a beach, hand in hand, when he suddenly dropped to one knee and said, “You should marry me!” He had the ring in hand and, at the hotel lounge, champagne was waiting.
The couple was married at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Toronto, where pews were accented with ivory bows and tall cream pillars while ivory orchids framed the altar.
The reception, at Atrium Banquet Centre in Burlington, began with sangria martinis chilled through an ice sculpture.
The theme of ivory and sangria was repeated with centrepieces, the cake table, linens and flowers. Votive candles were lit on each table.
A five-course dinner was followed by the presentation of a late-night dessert table.
Their beautiful cakes were made by Dionne’s maid of honour and sister. At the end of the evening, Justin’s father delighted the guests by singing traditional Irish songs.
After a honeymoon cruise in the Mediterranean, the couple came back to earth. Both are secondary school teachers, now living in Woodbridge, ON.
